Comments on papers in recent issues of American Psychologist may be published. They should provide new and important information on the same topic as the original paper. The goal of the comment should be clearly stated in the first paragraph. Comments may present data or other evidence in support of their intended point(s).

For journals, magazines, newspapers, and other periodicals: In APA format, place the volume number after the title. Italicize this information. Place the issue number in parentheses and do not italicize it. Afterwards, include page numbers.

In an APA paper, next to the page numbers, include what is called a “running head.” The running head is a simplified version of the title of your paper. Place the running head in the top left corner of your project and place it in capital letters.
Chicago style formatting is widely used for academic papers, publications, and other documents. There are two Chicago formatting style types: Author-Date System, which is used for social and other sciences and Notes-Bibliography System, which is mostly used for arts, literature, and history.
